Senior PostgreSQL Platform Engineer (HCMC)

Job Summary: You'll own how the Orange Logic platform runs on PostgreSQL — the performance, scalability, and reliability of the database layer at the heart of our product. You'll join one of our Platform development teams and take strong ownership of execution. Specifically, you will:

  • Own how our platform interacts with PostgreSQL: query and index design, schema design and versioned migrations, transaction and connection management, and continuous performance optimization.
  • Design for scale — apply the right patterns (replication, partitioning, read distribution, connection pooling) to keep the database fast and reliable as load and tenancy grow.
  • Make PostgreSQL reliable and reusable across the platform: running on Kubernetes, provisioned through infrastructure-as-code, and consumed cleanly by other engineering teams.
  • Take on other high-priority platform work when it outranks the database stream. This is a platform engineering role, not a single-track one.
  • Deliver well-tested, PR-quality work and review others', with AI coding agents as a core part of how you work.

Profile

The most successful candidates for this role will have:

Required:

  • Production experience with PostgreSQL — query optimization, EXPLAIN/ANALYZE, indexing, schema design, and diagnosing performance at the application boundary.
  • Proven experience operating PostgreSQL at scale in production — multi-terabyte databases, sustaining thousands of transactions per second, and scaling read capacity with auto-scaling replicas — plus command of the patterns and tradeoffs behind it: partitioning, read distribution, replication/failover, and connection pooling options.
  • 5+ years of professional backend engineering.
  • Comfort in Kubernetes environments and with infrastructure-as-code. You're infra-aware, not a DBA.
  • Demonstrated ability to use AI coding agents for feature- and bugfix-level work across a codebase — context preparation, agent direction, implementation review, testing, and PR-quality delivery.
  • A track record of taking ownership and shipping under your own direction.
  • Professional English, written and verbal — you'll work closely with our US-based teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Computer Science, Information Technology, or similar).

A strong plus:

  • Building internal platform or self-service capabilities — database-as-a-service, golden paths, and the telemetry/observability that makes them self-serve (metrics, slow-query insight, health and performance signals).
  • Working within or extending a custom data-access layer or ORM internals.
  • Experience with C#/.NET — our platform's stack.
